Please keep the following precautions in mind during your meal deliveries.
If you're feeling ill, someone in your home is ill, or you have recently been exposed to someone who is ill, stay home. Do not volunteer if anyone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19, or if you have been tested and are awaiting test results.
Wash your hands. In general, hand-washing is among the best ways to prevent the spread of illness. Wash your hands before and after your volunteer shift and consider using hand sanitizer during your route.
Pick up and drop off curbside. In order to maintain social distancing at MIFA, food pick-ups and cooler drop-offs will be made at curbside. A staff person will meet you at your car and load the coolers and boxes for you.
Use the app. We encourage the use of the Mobile Meals app in order to reduce paperwork, pen sharing, and close contact. Please see the instructions on this page. Staff will also be glad to answer questions to help you with initial setup.
Wear a mask. Masks are optional for meal delivery volunteers. Wearing a mask that covers your nose and mouth can limit the transfer of germs between you and the client.
Do not enter the client's home. Many of our clients are understandably concerned about contact with others, so please respect their personal space. Keep your distance and keep your visit short.
