We are grateful that so many volunteers in our generous community have offered to help during this challenging time. Our programs are making adjustments every day to serve our clients the best way we can. The volunteer opportunities we can offer at this time are listed below.
We have openings for MIphone Buddy callers. This opportunity involves calling up to 10 seniors weekly for brief check-ins. Contact Kristi Estes at email@example.com or (901) 529-4521.
A number of volunteers have suspended their deliveries due to COVID-19, and we need short-term support to cover their routes. Volunteer requirements: application, background check, and online training (click here to download the training slideshow).
Deliveries take place Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only beginning at 9 a.m. These deliveries will include hot meals as well as boxes of shelf-stable or frozen meals, so some moderate lifting is required.
Since the pandemic began, we have made a number of changes to our delivery procedures to keep our volunteers, staff, and clients safe, including masks and gloves, curbside pick-up of meals at MIFA, and touch-free deliveries to clients.
